On 28 September 2026, we were delighted to welcome teachers and students from our sister school, 鄭州巿扶輪外國語高級中學, back to our school.

Following their visit to our school last school year and our visit to Zhengzhou in March this year, during which our two schools officially established our sister-school partnership, teachers and students from both schools came together once again to reconnect and continue our meaningful exchange.

The day began with a welcoming ceremony, followed by a campus tour where our guests explored the school facilities and learned more about the learning environment of our school. Teachers and students from both schools also shared their experiences of school life, providing opportunities to get to know one another and build friendships.

Our guests were then invited to join a variety of lessons, including Technology and Living, Science, English Language, Mathematics and Geography. Through these classroom experiences, teachers and students from both schools gained a glimpse into each other’s classroom culture, exchanging ideas and learning together in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

This visit brought our two sister schools even closer together. We look forward to every future exchange as an opportunity to further strengthen the connections between our teachers and students.

We hope that our two schools will continue to connect through different forms of exchange, providing more opportunities for teachers and students to learn from one another, grow together and carry forward the precious friendship between our sister schools.

On 22 September 2026, our school celebrated the opening of our newly renovated English Corner and Chill Cove. We are especially grateful to Ms Hui Suet Ming, a member of the first graduating class of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians Siu Ming Catholic Secondary School, whose generous donation has brought our English Corner back to life. Her kindness has given our students a welcoming space to explore English, share ideas and grow in confidence. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms Hui for giving back to her alma mater and inspiring the next generation.

Last Friday marked our very first Happy Friday event! Ms. Lam specially choreographed an energetic morning exercise routine for the whole school, while around 30 Exercise Ambassadors took to the stage to lead everyone in the movements!

As the upbeat music began , students stretched, moved, and danced along with the rhythm. In just a few minutes, the campus was filled with energy, positivity, and smiles! It was a refreshing and uplifting way to begin the school day!

Through the Happy Friday morning exercise programme , the school hopes to encourage students to develop a regular exercise habit. Staying active not only supports physical health , but can also boost energy and concentration—helping students engage more fully in lessons and school life!

Our next Happy Friday will take place at the Mid-Autumn Festival! Stay tuned, and join us as we celebrate the festival with energy and joy!

On September 5, 2026, our school had the absolute pleasure of welcoming back 12 alumni alongside their families for a heartwarming cookie-baking gathering in the Technology & Living (TL) Room.

The TL Room was filled with sweet aromas, cheerful laughter, and warm nostalgic conversations as our past graduates reconnected with one another and introduced their families to campus life.

We are delighted to share the highlights from this year’s Teachers' Day celebrations, a memorable occasion marked by warmth, appreciation, and strong community spirit across our campus.

• Tokens of Appreciation from the PTA: To express heartfelt gratitude for their selfless dedication to nurturing our students, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) presented fresh pears to our Supervisor, Sisters, Principal, teaching staff, social workers, technicians, school officers, and janitorial staff. The gift symbolized our sincere wishes for every educator to enjoy a fruitful journey in guiding bright, inspiring young minds.

• Recognition of the Home-School Partnership: Demonstrating the strength of our school community, our Principal presented fresh peaches and grapes to the PTA Executive Committee representatives in sincere recognition of their continuous support and collaboration.

Highlights & Rerun Announcement: Leisure Reading Program Day 1 & "Pet & Respect for Life" Book Exhibition

Our 3-day Leisure Reading Program commenced this morning with a serene reading session, offering students a quiet and relaxing start to the day completely immersed in good books.

The excitement continued into lunchtime with the "Pet & Respect for Life" Book Exhibition, where students gathered to discover inspiring new reads and share their personal reflections. A highlight of the session came from a student sharing a moving perspective from her "window book":

Reframing life's unexpected challenges can completely transform our mindset. Reflecting on a character who lost her wallet, she realized that viewing the lost money as an unintended gift of charity to someone in need brought immediate peace.

Our teachers and students recently participated in the "Tiangong Classroom · Hong Kong and Macau Special Session," engaging in real-time interaction with the Shenzhou-23 astronauts aboard the China Space Station! The three space teachers — Mission Commander Dr. Zhu Yangzhu, Astronaut Mr. Zhang Zhiyuan, and Hong Kong's first payload specialist Dr. Lai Ka-ying — delivered a fascinating space science lesson to students from Hong Kong and Macau.

From microgravity experiments and table tennis exercises inside the capsule, to an introduction of space meals, every segment left the students in awe. Dr. Lai Ka-ying also encouraged fellow students with her personal story: "Equip yourselves well, be brave and seize the opportunity when it comes — Hong Kong people can also take part in our nation's space missions!"

This event allowed students to witness firsthand the remarkable achievements of our country's aerospace technology. It not only deepened their interest in science but also ignited their dreams of exploring the future of space.

Four of our students participated in the 59th Joint School Science Exhibition, held from 18 to 24 August at the Hong Kong Central Library. Their project, The Web, is an innovative, non-destructive monitoring system designed to transform agricultural management and environmental protection through the predictive detection of plant stress. Participation in this event provided students with a valuable opportunity to cultivate their scientific curiosity while enhancing their analytical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.

Established by the Leung Kwong Wing Education Fund, the St. John Bosco Award aims to honour St. John Bosco’s care for young people and to encourage students from the Salesian Family in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to follow his spirit and strive for excellence. The award recognises students’ outstanding academic performance while encouraging them to demonstrate selfless dedication, care for young people, and a spirit of service to others, the school, and society. Awardees receive a certificate of commendation personally signed by the Rector Major of the Salesians, as well as a scholarship of HK$20,000.

Our Secondary 6 student, Vivian Yip , has received this distinguished award in recognition of her exemplary conduct and active commitment to service. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to her.

Vivian said that during her time studying at Siu Ming, she has always upheld her passion for faith and strived for balanced growth in academics, service, and evangelisation.

Vivian served as a choir leader for five years and actively participated in Catholic Society. She has been dedicated to fostering a religious atmosphere on campus and guiding her schoolmates to better understand the meaning and values of the Catholic faith. She has also made full use of her “talents” to serve the school and promote the spirit of St. John Bosco, demonstrating a strong witness of faith and setting an excellent example of service.

We warmly congratulate Vivian on receiving the St. John Bosco Award and wish her continued success as she embraces the spirit of faith, hope, and love, shines brightly on her future path, and serves more people in need.

We are delighted to share the wonderful highlights from this year’s School Singing Contest! Our students once again impressed everyone with their talent, creativity, and confidence on stage. 

This year marked a special milestone as we introduced the junior solo category for the first time. We are especially proud of all the young singers who stepped forward and gave their best performance with courage and enthusiasm. 

We were also thrilled to see two ASD performances, in which students not only performed but also composed and choreographed their own dance routines. Their originality, teamwork, and artistic expression made these performances truly memorable.

Congratulations to all our performers on a truly memorable annual concert. Your year-round hard work, dedication, and passion were clearly reflected in every performance, and we are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved.

The concert began with the Chinese Orchestra, whose performance of A Stroll in Suti opened the morning with elegance and warmth. As the concert drew to a close, the choir’s tender rendition of Before We Grow Up brought the programme to a heartfelt finish, reminding us to treasure every moment, every voice, and every shared memory before we grow up. Its touching lyrics and warm harmonies gave the audience a beautiful and meaningful ending to an unforgettable celebration.
